Core principle
Your vault security depends on your keys and recovery material. Treat them like the master key to a physical vault.
Recommended practices
- Use a strong device login (OS password, disk encryption where available)
- Keep recovery material offline (printed copy or hardware-secured storage)
- Do not paste keys into chat apps or send them over email
- Separate access: dont store recovery material inside the same vault it protects
- Limit sharing: only share the minimum access needed
Backups and recovery
- Keep at least two recovery copies in separate secure locations
- Test recovery on a non-critical vault first (practice run)
